Webinar Series: Water and Climate

In July 2020, a webinar series will be held on “Coordinating, Implementing, and Financing National Climate and Water Policy Frameworks”. It has been developed by Cap-Net, UNDP, Global Water Partnership, AGWA, SIWI, and the Water Governance Facility. The webinars will highlight and contribute to strengthening climate and water linkages in national frameworks such as NDCs, NAPs, and various investment mechanisms.

Phase II of the Nexus Assessment in the Drin Basin moving ahead

The scope and detailed outline of the Phase II Nexus Assessment for the Drin river basin, together with related activities, were presented and discussed in the 7th Drin Stakeholders Conference and 18th Drin Core Group Meeting held in Tirana, Albania on 29-30 January 2020. It follows up on the Phase I Nexus Assessment that was completed in 2019 as part of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the Drin river basin.

CLOSED: Drin Day 2020

The Global Water Partnership Mediterranean GEF/UNDP/GWP-Med project 'Enabling transboundary cooperation and integrated water resources management in the extended Drin River Basin' (GEF Drin Project) is making efforts to raise public awareness about the natural wealth and cultural heritage of the Drin River Basin through the celebration of Drin Day 2020.

Water Development in Mountain Counties

In June 2020, the Ministry of Water Resources sent an expert team to Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, to explore water development regarding science and technology in mountain areas. Prof Yunzhong Jiang, regional coordinator of GWP China, was one of the professional advisors.

Launch of GovernAgua: Transforming Water Governance in South America

The GovernAgua project: "Transforming water governance in South America: from reaction to adaptation and anticipation” was launched on 26 July. The regional event, supported by GWP South America, took place at the SARAS Institute headquarters (South American Institute for Resilience and Sustainability Studies) and it was broadcast online.
