34th Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia Regional Steering Committee Meeting

Phnom Penh, 11 December 2018 -- The two days Regional Steering Committee Meeting was held to discussed several topics, among others: the accreditation of Country Water Partnership, namely Cambodia WP, Thailand WP, and Lao-PDR WP; Locally raise fund; distribution of GWP’s seed fund; improvement of Operational and Capacity (OPCAP) status; and preparation of the new GWP-SEA chairman. Mali: A new Executive Secretary for the CWP

Alioune Bagou DIARRA has been recruited as the new Executive Secretary for the Country Water Partnership of Mali from June 1ST 2018. He holds a Masters’ Degree in Water and Environment from 2IE, an advanced degree in Applied Chemistry.

Collective action to rejuvenate Hindon River in India

India Water Partnership (IWP) in collaboration with Nirmal Hindon Initiative, 2030 Water Resources Group, WAPCOS Ltd. and Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritag’s (INTACH’s) Natural Heritage Division organised a Technical Workshop on knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building of Stakeholders for Preparing the Road Map for Collective Action for Hindon River Rejuvenation on 9 June 2018 at the Office of Commissioner, Meerut Division (Uttar Pradesh).

GWP Provides Expertise to WMO HydroConference

GWP co-organised the recent World Meteorological Organization (WMO) HydroConference – the Global Conference for Prosperity through Hydrological Services – in Geneva, Switzerland. The event set out to create better interfaces between the providers of hydrological services and the users who need such services for a wide range of decision-making.
