Call: The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) is seeking to hire an external Consultant in the framework of the Water, Climate and Development Programme, WACDEP, for the activity : “Preparation of funding request for a water adaptation project in Mauritania for submission to the GCF project preparation facility”
GWP co-designed a webinar series on farmer-led irrigation (FLI) in partnership with the World Bank, the International Water Management Institute, and the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute. The 2-part series, which concluded on 9 July, highlighted the need for innovative water solutions to support agricultural production systems in a changing climate. FLI development has gained increased attention as one of the solutions to build climate resilience for smallholder farmers. GWP is involved with stakeholders in several countries on FLI initiatives.
On 8 March 2019: International Women’s Day falls on 8 March with this year’s theme “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change” which focuses on innovative ways in which individuals can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of access to public services, social protection systems and sustainable infrastructure. Transformations, integrated approaches and new solutions are necessary particularly for advancing gender equality and empowering women on the journey to achieve the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In other words, “business as usual” will not be sufficient and should put forward innovative approaches that removes structural barriers and ensures no woman and no girl is left behind.

The East Africa Water Summit (EAWATERS) is an annual multi-stakeholder water community engagement platform in East Africa. The 4th edition of the Summit is held 21-22 November in Nairobi, Kenya.
GWP launched its new Strategy, Mobilising for a Water Secure World, at a reception attended by more than 200 people hosted by the Dutch Embassy on August 27, 2019, during Stockholm World Water Week.
