The guided tour took place on Thursday, November 02, 2017 on the demonstration site of the “Multifunctional agro-forestry park” in Komki Ipala. The aim was to make the IDM platform core group discover the system of defense and allow the group to observe results obtained (performance, efficiency, etc.) using this system.
For International Women's Day 2020, celebrated on 8 March, UN Women chose the theme, "I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights.” GWP reached out to women in its worldwide network, asking them to share stories on what they learned on their journey to taking on leadership roles in the water sector.
A West Africa region team including participants from Water Resources Coordination Center (WRCC)/ ECOWAS, Volta Basin Authority (VBA) and Global Water Partnership-West Africa (GWP-WA) took part in a Technical Task Team Workshop on the setting up of the NEPAD PIDA Water Project - Support to project Preparation and Financing of PIDA Transboundary Water and Hydropower Projects and Africa Investments Programme 2019 – 2024. The workshop organized by NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA), in collaboration with AMCOW, GWP and Partners was held on the 12th 2018 in Botswana, Gaborone.
GWP Central Africa (GWP-CAf) carried out a working visit to the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) from 29 August to 01 September 2017 in Libreville, Gabon. The main objective of this visit was to strengthen collaboration between the two structures, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding in April 2017.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) Steering Committee announced the appointment of Dr. Monika Weber-Fahr as GWP Executive Secretary, effective May 7, 2018. Weber-Fahr joins GWP after 20-plus years in the development field, with diverse experiences in creating and sharing knowledge across global networks and communities. Weber-Fahr succeeds Rudolph Cleveringa who is retiring.
The ECOWAS/WRCC accompanied the countries sharing the Comoé, Bia and Tanoé river basins (Mali, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire) in the process of establishing a common authority.
