Dr. Monika Weber-Fahr, GWP’s new Executive Secretary has visited West Africa in the last week of June. She had a stay in Dakar, Senegal to take part in the World Water Forum’s Board of Governors’ meeting, and in the Climate KIC strategy meeting.
From 26th – 28th June 2018, meetings were held at WRC to review the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Tool for the water resources sub-sector to include climate change.

Benin has established a Network of Professional Women in the Water and Sanitation Sector (RBFPEA) on 11 May 2018 in Cotonou to promote the involvement of professional women in the implementation of actions and projects and highlight their contribution to the development of the sector. CWP-Benin strongly supported the initiative.

On Thursday 21 June 2018, an information session on the project #TonFuturTonClimat# was held at the town hall of Kouandé for fifteen participants to learn about the new project.
In a long-anticipated event, the UN’s High Level Political Forum (HLPF) met in New York in July, to review progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, including, for the first time, the one dedicated to water, SDG 6. The global GWP secretariat in Stockholm seeks a consultancy for support to the formulation of GWP Strategy 2020-2025. The objective is to draft and finalise the GWP 2020-2025 Strategy document, in close coordination with the secretariat, via the design and implementation of a collaborative and consultative process involving key GWP stakeholders.
