GWP and UNICEF Introduce New Publications

GWP and UNICEF have been collaborating since 2014 on the development of a Strategic Framework for WASH Climate Resilient Development with a series of knowledge products to support the implementation of the Framework at regional, national, watershed and local level. Another two publications were launched at Stockholm World Water Week 2017.

Competition for environmental art in the Danube river basin

Jointly organised by the Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) and the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR), the competition encourages children to have a closer look at their local rivers and reflect on what the environment means to them. Children from all schools, NGOs, day care centres or associations for children in the Danube Basin are invited to create a piece of art and take part in the Danube Art Master competition, which has united thousands of children from across the Danube River Basin since 2004.

Kholoud Al-Ajarma Wants Environmental Justice for Everyone

Kholoud Al-Ajarma is a Programme Manager for Lajee Center in Palestine, a Winner of the Water Heroes Contest, and collaborator to GWP Mediterranean. “My interest in water started from a human rights perspective. I believed that water is not only a science concern, but to have a better future in water management, all segments of society should collaborate to ensure water access to everyone and to raise awareness about water management and consumption among local communities,” she says. Today, her main motivation in is to ensure environmental justice for everyone. She shares her story in celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD2020).
