The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is the only financing mechanisms of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which is exclusively dedicated to addressing the climate crisis. The GCF has a specific mandate to promote a country-driven, climate-resilient and low-carbon development. It is hoped that this will become the main channel through which international public funding for climate will flow over time.
In order to revitalize the Country Water Partnership in Cape Verde, the IDMP project manager, Ms. Félicité VODOUNHESSI together with the Senior Network Officer (SNO) of the GWP West Africa, Ms. Julienne ROUX also attending the WASAG Forum in Praia, met and discussed with some partners including the chair of the Cape Verde CWP, Mr Mario MONIZ, the Director of the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANAS), Mr Inacio Mendes PEREIRA, and Mr Januario NASCIMONTO, Director of the Association for the Defense of Environment(of ADAD).
On 17 and 18 January 2018, the National Hydraulic Directorate organized the workshop to validate Guinea's National Water Policy with IUCN funding. Jakarta, 27 November 2018 -- A discussion to evaluate the cause of land subsidence in Jakarta was held in the Ministry of Public Works, Republic of Indonesia premises. Several experts from various technical background were presented their findings. The discussion divided into 3 session, namely: to understand the factors behind the caused of land subsidence, to understand the effects of land subsidence, and mitigation efforts.
