A systematic water monitoring campaign provides baseline for the transboundary Lake Ohrid Watershed Management Plan being developed by GEF Drin Project
A second Public Consultation on the Sevan Basin Management Plan was held in Armenia from June 11 to 17 July, 2020. The consultation was organised on the programme of measures for Sevan and Hrazdan river basins districts. This is part of the River Basin Management Plans (RBMP) developed for Sevan and Hrazdan river basins within EUWI+.
With over 54 shared river basins in Africa, cooperation in the management and development of transboundary water resources is a key building block towards regional and economic integration. However, the pace of investment in transboundary water projects in Africa remains very slow hampering progress towards the continent’s economic growth aspirations and 2030 SDG targets.
On December 17-20, 2018, stakeholders from the Lancang-Mekong river basin countries shared their lessons of natural disasters control and future vision on joint programmes regarding the sustainable river development in Dali, Yunnan Province.
In order to confirm attendance at the workshop, participants from each country are expected to submit to the organizers up to three (3) draft project ideas that the country would potentially be interested to develop into GCF projects.

With 20 stakeholders in attendance, the Republic of Congo is the second country in Central Africa to hold a consultation workshop to validate the country report on indicator 6.5.1 of the Sustainable Development Goals which monitors the degree of implementation of Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM).
