Jakarta, 27 November 2018 -- A discussion to evaluate the cause of land subsidence in Jakarta was held in the Ministry of Public Works, Republic of Indonesia premises. Several experts from various technical background were presented their findings. The discussion divided into 3 session, namely: to understand the factors behind the caused of land subsidence, to understand the effects of land subsidence, and mitigation efforts.

On 19 November, marking World Toilet Day 2018, GWP invited Kanika Thakar, founder of #ToiletTalk, to a Facebook Live interview. She talked about her passion to change the way the world values and talks about toilets. “How can you solve a problem if we can't even talk about it?” she asks. Kanika says her aim is to break down the taboos surrounding toilets.
GWP is evaluating the role of knowledge within its Technical Committee (TEC). Selected forward thinkers and headquarter staff gathered for a 2-day collaborative workshop in Athens, Greece, on 4-5 September, to explore how GWP can access and apply the knowledge of the network. The big question was: How can we increase impact as well as stakeholder and user benefit? Ahead of the workshop, TEC Chair Jerome Delli Priscoli shared his thoughts on where TEC is going.
