The 8th Assembly of Partners took place on 28-29 September 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The theme of this AP was " Water Security in the ECOWAS in the context of SDGs implementation".
The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on sustainable development in 2018 is held on 9-18 July at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. GWP will be represented at the event.
8 March marks International Women’s Day. The global theme for this year is “Time is Now: Rural and urban activities transforming women’s lives”. Vientiane, 22 October 2018 -- A pre Steering Commitee Meeting was held in the Mekong River Commission (MRC) Secretariat on 22 October 2018 to discuss several important agenda for the upcoming event in the Q4. Involving 13 participants that represent the Country Water Partnership's Chair, GWP SEA Chairman and the Secretariat, as well as GWPO representatives, this event was back to back with the Regional Shared Vision Planning & Collaborative Modelling Training and Workshop which also held in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
GWP Cameroon and UNICEF signed a collaboration agreement on 23 March 2017 to implement the project "Improving the resilience of WASH services in the Mayo Tsanaga sub-basin through pilot initiatives".
GWP Steering Committee Member Mina Guli's #RunningDry campaign - to run 100 marathons in 100 days to raise awareness around the global water crisis - has turned into a movement, after a serious injury forced Mina to take a break from running.
