GWP Executive Secretary Monika Weber-Fahr spoke at the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO’s) Commission for Hydrology Technical Conference “Future Hydrological Priorities and Arrangements” on 11 February in Geneva, Switzerland. She delivered a key message on the need for organising so that stakeholders can easily engage with the WMO: “From the perspective of our partners in over 180 countries, GWP is keen to see WMO continue to build its offer to be an easily accessible, reliable and credible entry-point to the world of data and knowledge on the climate/water interface.”

Across the globe, March 8th is recognised as the United Nations’ International Women’s Day (IWD). This year, the theme is “The Time is Now: Rural and Urban Activists Transforming Women’s Lives.”
The aim of Stage 1 of the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme is to strengthen IWRM monitoring and reporting nationally, in order to identify critical areas for attention.
As part of the UN SDG 6 Data Drive, the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme is substantially scaling up its efforts in 2020 by facilitating 60+ in-country processes across the world to assist national stocktaking and reporting, and more importantly, to support transformative action towards a greater implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
The National Designated Authority (NDA) of Burkina Faso organized on 20 February 2020, the second National Structured Dialogue on the Green Climate Fund (GFC) in Ouagadougou. The overall objective was to strengthen the synergy of actions between stakeholders for a greater mobilization of Green Climate Fund financing for the benefit of Burkina Faso.
GWP Ukraine gathered stakeholders to evaluate the implementation of water-related SDGs in the country’s policy documents and legislation on 26 September 2019.
