Recent droughts and floods in Southern Africa region have served as a reminder that a silo approach to planning and investing in water security is no longer suitable due to changing climate and pressure on natural resources.

GWP had a strong presence at this year’s Stockholm World Water Week (WWW), from 25-30 August. A large delegation participated in over 30 sessions, and the GWP Strategy for 2020-2025 was launched at a side event. VIENNA, 29 October 2018 -- The winner of the ‘International Danube Art Master 2018’ competition is 17-year-old Ion Zatic of Moldova, announced Susanne Brandstetter, Chairperson of the Public Participation Expert Group of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR). The Public Participation Expert Group is responsible for promoting the Danube Art Master initiative in the Danube River Basin.

Dr. Paulette Bynoe is a Senior Lecturer and the Interim Deputy Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research, University of Guyana. She is also a current member of the GWP Caribbean Steering Committee. In this interview, she describes the University of Guyana and its partnership with GWP, which started in 2010.

The 2nd Cairo Water Week (CWW) will be organised on October 20-24 in Cairo, Egypt. The event will address the theme “Responding to Water Scarcity” through five sub-themes overarching a broad spectrum of the water scarcity.
