The Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP) – a joint initiative of GWP and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) – is providing targeted drought management support to 8 countries: Ethiopia, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Benin, Niger, Serbia, Macedonia, and Moldova as part of the UNCCD Drought Initiative.
The CWP chair, Mamadou Alpha HANN led the Executive Secretariat to meet with the President of Commission No 3 of the Economic and Social Council (ESC), Mr Maurice DOPAVOGUI, accompanied by Mrs Guilao Joséphine LENO, former Minister and member of the ESC, to discuss the possibilities of collaboration with his institution.
GWP-C will participate in a national workshop in Jamaica on the Integrated Monitoring of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6. The workshop is scheduled to take place in July 2019.
