“We have a powerful story” – Hundreds of GWP Partners Engaged in Network Meeting

GWP’s “Follow-the-Sun” Network Meeting concluded, after 29 hours, on Friday 28 September. The meeting, which was held in 15 consecutive multi-point video conference sessions over two days, engaged over 400 Partners across the world, in nearly 50 countries. The main aim was to seek insight for GWP’s Strategy development, in addition to statutory tasks. “We have a powerful story”, said GWP Executive Secretary Monika Weber-Fahr in her concluding remarks.

GWP WA at the Green Climate Fund (GCF) workshop in South Africa

A West African delegation of 10 participants from Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali and the regional level have taken part into the Green Climate Fund (GCF) workshop in South Africa on the financing of water-related projects. Their participation was made possible through the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) to this meeting from 19 to 21 September 2018.

GWP network meeting in West Africa

This year, GWP’s annual Network Meeting for Partners has been conducted for the first time in a “Follow-the-Sun” format. The objective being to engage as many of the network Partners as possible in a meaningful way, while keeping cost at bay, and also to make sure everyone who wanted could participate in their own language.

Competing for this project were the "Koom La Viim" association (which means "Water is life") of Nomgana / rural municipality of Loumbila and the "Nongtaaba/Jeune La Touma" association (which means "youth is work") of Koankin in the rural municipality of Saponé.
