'Our Future Water Berlin' is a global event that invites all current leaders and future leaders to attend to achieve water security for today's and future generations. It takes place in Berlin, Germany on 7 November 2018.

Bangladesh hosted the fourth regional consultation on Valuing Water held on 31 July 2017 at the BRAC Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sixty-three water professionals from Bangladesh, development partners representing World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations, Water Resources Group 2030 (WRG 2030), Embassies and other organisations have actively participated the discussion.

The Volta Basin Authority (VBA), Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP - WA) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) organized the regional training workshop on Integrated Flood Management (IFM), Preparation and Financing of IFM projects from 20th to 24th November 2017.

After the regional mission in February, the CWP Guinea has reviewed its 2018-2019 action plan to include proposals and activities discussed during the mission with various partners. The reviewed plan focusses on Policy Influence and Visibility of the CWP, Communication and knowledge management; Strengthening partnerships and governance; and Mobilization of financial resources.

The Global Water Partnership held its Regional Days 2018 - its annual gathering of the Global and Regional Secretariats staff and Chairs (13 Regional Water Partnerships) - in Budapest, Hungary, from 22-25 May 2018.

2016 marks 20 years since Global Water Partnership began its commitment to help governments take a cross-sectoral approach to water resources management.

Tuesday, 5 June 2018 - Pre-monsoon conditions in Sri Lanka have caused storms (with rainfall peaking at 350 mm over 24 hours) since 19 May 2018 in the southwest parts of the country. Precipitation triggered a flood and landslide situation across the country, affecting thousands of lives and livelihoods, as well as causing damage to property.

Xiang River is one of main tributaries of the Yangtze River and the largest river in Hunan Province, providing water for domestic and industrial use as well as water transport. Changsha, the capital of Hunan and other developed cities in Hunan, with higher urbanization and dense population, are concentrated in the Xiang River Basin. Xiang River flows through Changsha and affords the city drinking water. For citizens, the health of the river affects the security of each family and their living environment.
