CWP Benin officially handed over the Bachelor and Master level Water Integrity and sanitation Units to the Director of the National Institute of Water (INE) in the presence of the first Vice-Rector of the University of Abomey-Calavi.

The SADC Secretariat has been holding a series of workshops for the transboundary River Basin Organisations (RBOs) in the region since 2006. The workshops are organised with the aim of using RBOs as a vehicle for strengthening regional integration and have served as a key tool for implementing SADC’s Revised Regional Protocol on Shared Watercourses (2000).

 

The Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) is the global platform to share and co-create innovative water solutions. The biennial event gathers stakeholders from the global water industry to share best practices, showcase the latest technologies and tap business opportunities. SIWW is part of the strategic programme of the Singapore Government to grow the water industry and develop water technologies.

 

These events was organized by Singapore International Water Week Pte Ltd, a company set up by Singapore's Ministry of the Environment & Water Resources and PUB, Singapore’s national water agency. The 7th Singapore International Water Week held in conjunction with the 5th World Cities Summit and the 3rd CleanEnviro Summit Singapore, from 10 – 14 July 2016 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

 

The event tackled the roles of LGUs, water districts, and stakeholders in the watersheds, updates and best practices in watershed management as well as other ingredients to ensure protection of our valued watersheds, in the context of planning, collaboration and action.

During the 5^th Meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Water Expert Group (WEG) in November 2015, a UfM Ministerial Conference on Water has been proposed to take place the first semester of 2017 in Malta. The technical process towards that was launched  with the WEG mandating a Drafting Group to elaborate on technical contents, in case the political partners decide to convene the suggested ministerial meeting.

In the context of setting the scene for the development of the new GWP strategy, the Regional Days 2018 in Budapest included a session exploring GWP’s current position within the different regions and themes, and how the network adds value. Each region and thematic lead were asked to develop a poster describing their work and application in practice. The below posters are internal GWP working documents.

On December 13-15, 2018, Pan-Asia Capacity Development Training Workshop on Water Governance convened over 40 participants from 17 countries of Asian region in Kunming, Yunnan province.

Economy representatives and distinguished participants met in Skopje this week to discuss how water, energy, food and ecosystems can become more integrated in South East Europe (SEE).
