The Water Cooperation and Diplomacy Joint Master’s Degree Programme is seeking highly qualified candidates to join the international programme beginning in summer 2018.
On October 19 in San Salvador, GWP Central America and the Central American Commission for Environment and Development (CCAD), in coordination with the Central American and Dominican Republic Forum on Water and Sanitation (FOCARD-APS) and the Government of El Salvador, held a regional workshop to promote the exchange of experiences among the countries of Central America on progress in monitoring and implementing SDG 6 in the national 2030 agendas.
The 26th edition of the WWD was celebrated in various but very simple ways by CWP-Benin. On March 22, the CWP took over many media outlets to communicate on the topic of the Day and bring awareness, a support to the National Water Institute (INE), then the preparation of a contest related to the theme of WWD.
M. Bila Compaoré nicknamed Moussa is the chief of the Kogoloweogo association set up since the early 80’s during the revolution period for the reforestation through tree planting in Komki Ipala, 45 km in the west of Ouagadougou. The association involves most of the population of the village of Komki Ipala but is ruled by a group of 21 persons including four women. He is almost 60 but very active and enterprising. “The implementation of this project taught us lots of things that I will personally try to implement in my own field such as making bunches, surrounding walls, land scarification or semi moon to capture rain for the soil”, says Moussa.
The goal of the Africa Water Investment Programme is to transform and improve the investment outlook for water security and sustainable sanitation for a prosperous, peaceful and equitable society.
The AIP will strengthen the business case for investments in water security and climate resilience, and prepare bankable projects as instruments to stimulate transformative economic growth while addressing the root causes of migration, youth unemployment, and gender inequality. On Friday 27 July, the team in charge of developing the national drought plan for Burkina Faso met with the CWP-Burkina Faso Executive Secretariat Team to discuss the participation of the Integrated Drought Management platform set up by the CWP Burkina Faso under IDMP- West Africa in the process.
This two-day event will bring together various water stakeholders who are contributing to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goal number 6; entrepreneurs, investors, large and small companies, non-governmental organisations, UN agencies, incubators, etc.
