The 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP25, will take place on 2-13 December, in Madrid, Spain. The conference is being held under the presidency of the Chilean government. GWP is an accredited IGO observer and will bring new water insights to the climate agenda.
A draft water charter was submitted for review by the Volta Basin Authority during a national workshop held on 05 and 06 July 2018 in Grand Bassam. The official ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Water and Forestry (MINEF), represented by Colonel ME Kouamé Martial, Deputy Director of Cabinet of the MINEF.
Wetlands International held the "Workshop for the production by media men and women of written, radio and television press articles on IWRM, climate change, gold panning and the installation of dredges on rivers" on Monday, August 6, 2018 in Sélingué, Kangare district.
A West African delegation of 10 participants from Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali and the regional level have taken part into the Green Climate Fund (GCF) workshop in South Africa on the financing of water-related projects. Their participation was made possible through the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) to this meeting from 19 to 21 September 2018.
Representatives of Asian and Pacific countries, stakeholder groups and development and humanitarian partners will gather in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, 3-6 July, for the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR). GWP will be represented at the event.
8 March marks International Women’s Day (IWD). The global theme this year is “Planet 50-50: Step It Up for Gender Equality”. It asks governments to make commitments to address the challenges that are holding women and girls back from reaching their full potential.
