The annual GWP Network Meeting will be held on 11 October at 13.00 Central European Time (CET). It is a virtual meeting, to be broadcast on the GWP website www.gwp.org – with a special guest message from UN Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Jan Eliasson. On March 27 and 28, 2017, GWP China organized a capacity building session to help secretariat staff of provincial and river basin partnerships learn "GWP Change Agenda" for strengthening institutional construction in Yunnan Province.

With the overall vision of achieving water security and the SDGs, GWP supports mandated actors to advance water governance through the application of IWRM principles – widely accepted as the keys to solving the problem of sharing limited water resources equitably among many competing water users. Our most meaningful results therefore lie in the governance improvements introduced by actors at all levels where GWP is active. These governance improvements, recorded as tangible outcomes, occur in “change areas” which cover the wide array of the water governance spectrum.

The first “International Workshop on Wastewater Management in the Danube river Basin“ will take place from 28 to 29 November 2017 in Bucharest, Romania.

On January 30 and February 2, 2018, Global Water Partnerships (GWP) talented people at global and regional levels gathered Beijing where is the GWP China Regional Partnership based for an innovative coordination mechanism towards the GWP technical sustainability.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. SEIDOU ADAMBI Samou, Minister of Water and Mines of Benin, chair of the VBA Council of Ministers.

Global Water Partnership (GWP) Africa undertook an inception mission in Madagascar to support the design of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) work on Climate resilience mainstreaming into the water sector and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services in the country aligning it to the country National Adaptation Planning process.

GWP took part in the COP 23 UN climate talks in Bonn, Germany, on 6-17 November, to promote climate change adaptation through water resources management. Various streams of GWP’s work on climate resilience were highlighted, and financing for water was a key component in many discussions.
