GWP participated in the UN climate conference in Marrakech, COP22, with representatives from various parts of the network. Adaptation and financing were two topics that dominated many discussions, with a strong youth perspective throughout.

Youth Water Community Central and Eastern Europe is organising a workshop Plastic Pollution Reduction in Rivers: Current Status, Solutions and Remaining Challenges on 5 December 2017 in Tirana, Albania.

The Summer School „Towards 2030 Agenda: A summer school for climate change, innovation and youth advocacy in water management“ took place on 1- 6 July 2018 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.

On January 31, 2018, the Chair of Global Water Partnership (GWP) visited the Ministry of Water Resources of China (MWR) in Beijing, China to promote a closer relationship between two parties.

CWP Benin officially handed over the Bachelor and Master level Water Integrity and sanitation Units to the Director of the National Institute of Water (INE) in the presence of the first Vice-Rector of the University of Abomey-Calavi.

The Tanzania Water Partnership (TWP) was launched in Feb 2004 as the 8th Country Water Partnership (CWP) in the Southern African Sub Region. By then, it was called CWP. However, there were only a few activities that were registered between 2004 and 2013. Sporadic efforts to keep and sustain the partnership did not yield much success and hence dormancy dominated most of this period. 

A national workshop was held on November 2, 2016 in Abidjan to validate the consultant report on the assessment of needs in integrated flood management. A study carried out by the Consultant, Mr. JIBIKILAYI Honoré.
