On 22 February, the CWP leaders met to discuss preparations for the visit of the regional delegation from 25 February to 1 March. This visit is meant to support CWP Guinea in strengthening its visibility and together make efforts to set up initiatives to support the promotion of IWRM.
GWP’s Financing Partners Group (FPG) and Steering Committee (SC) met in December to consider a range of issues facing the GWP network. One of the highlights was a joint session with both entities which addressed the issue of water diplomacy.
The cornerstone of GWP China is to be a knowledge sharing network. It was pioneered by GWP China Regional, Provincial and River Basin Partnerships and also fully supported by GWPO and the GWP Technical Committee, a group of internationally recognized professionals and scientists who are at the forefront of proposing actions that promote sustainable water resources management.

The Gambia Country Water Partnership (GCWP) held a national workshop on monitoring and reporting on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Six (#6) indicator 6.5. The event took place on 29 August 2017 at the Tango Conference hall in Banjul. Target 6.5 reads “Implement integrated water resources management at all levels, including through transboundary cooperation as appropriate”. The workshop is aimed at facilitating the submission of baseline data on SDG 6.5.1 on the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management.
Jointly organized by GWP CEE and the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River, this ambitious contest encourages children to visit their local rivers and create artworks reflecting what the Danube means to them.
Each year at WMO, a meeting is held at the global level to provide strategic guidance to regional programmes. This is also an opportunity to make advocacy with some of the financial partners.

The program on River Black (Hei He in Chinese) has implemented from 2016. The GWP China Yellow River worked with the River Black Administration to implant ‘sense of ecosystem’ into the mind of decision makers of to improve the environmental quality of the river basin. The WACDEP in China (2017-2019) emphasizes ‘integrated river basin management (IRBM)’ implementation outcomes of the River Black Basin.
