Call for Abstracts - 17th WaterNet/WARFSA/GWPSA Symposium, 26 – 28 of October 2016, Gaborone, Botswana

The 17th WaterNet/WARFSA/GWPSA Symposium on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in Eastern and Southern Africa welcomes submission of abstracts for original contribution to the field in the following subthemes:

  • Hydrology and Climate Change
  • Water and Environment
  • Water, Land and Agriculture
  • Water and Society
  • Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation
  • Water Resources and Infrastructure Management

Training on International Water Law in Africa

Five partner institutions are organising a joint training on International Water Law (IWL) in Africa. The experiences and lessons learnt will be used as a pilot to develop a 5-year-long (2016-2020) training programme on IWL, with the aim to improve transboundary water management in Africa. Interested candidates are welcome to apply for funded training before 25 June 2015.

Making strides in Water Governance - Malawi National Youth Water Network

Following the SADC Water Week Conference held at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe, Malawi from the 13-15 May, 2015, the Malawi National Youth Water Network (MNYWN) was formed on the 14th of May, 2015. The setting up of the Network was in line with the SADC program for the African Minister’s Council on Water (AMCOW) Policy and Strategy on Mainstreaming Youth in the Water and Sanitation Sector through the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, Water Aid and Malawi Water Partnership.

Tanzania Water Partnership nominated to the National Multi-Sectoral Forum on WRMD in Tanzania

Tanzania Water Partnership (TWP) has been recognized and nominated by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in Tanzania to be a member of the National Multi-Sectoral Water Resources Management Forum. The forum is meant to serve as a national platform for discussing and deliberating on Integrated Water Resources Management and development issues involving wide stakeholder interests, water related institutions and sectors.

July 27, 2020, the Consultation Workshop of SDG 6.5.1 2020 Reporting was organized by GWP China, inviting twenty experts on water and environment authorities, media, research institutes, enterprises and NGOs.
