Stage 2 of the Support Programme builds on the IWRM challenges identified by countries in their periodic SDG 6.5.1 assessments. This phase focuses on developing tailored governance responses to address priority areas, transforming identified needs into targeted investment opportunities. By the end of Stage 2, these interventions are expected to be funding-ready, facilitating a smooth transition to implementation in Stage 3.
The CWP Burkina organized on March 1st, 2023 an awareness campaign for the pupils of the rural commune of Komki Ipala on the importance of the three fights in Burkina Faso and the good hygiene practices in order to catalyze the changes of behaviour. Three (03) sensitisation sites including Komki A school, Komki B school and Tintilou C school were selected.
Zambian Youth representatives from Government agencies, private sector, civil society organizations, academic and research institutions, cooperating partners, and the media convened in Lusaka, Zambia on 31 July 2023 for a Youth Dialogue on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 on Clean Water and Sanitation. The Dialogue was organised by the Global Water Partnership (GWP) Zambia.
A regional training workshop on "Production, marketing and use of organic fertilizers for climate change adaptation and youth employability: opportunities, methods and tools" was held in Natitingou on 15 and 16 September 2022.
Countries sharing transboundary river basins often have conflicting demands over the available amount of water to be divided among them. Reaching an agreement often relies on available water data and forecasting. Negotiations over a water-sharing agreement or basin management arrangement benefit greatly from trust-building exercises, for example, conducting joint water data analyses or integrating scientific knowledge about water into the management decisions.
The 2022 network meeting was held earlier compared to the previous session. The meeting was held after the event of Regional Days with a hybrid format. The Regional Chairs, Regional Coordinators, Regional Communications Officers, Regional programme managers and GWP Global Secretariat staff who are in Stockholm participated according to the topics discussed in the breakout group session.
