Bhutan Water Partnership (BhWP) aligned to the World Water Day theme ‘Nature for Water: exploring nature-based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st century’ conducted a drainage cleaning exercise on 22 March in Thimphu, Bhutan.
World Water Day is an annual observance day on 22 March to highlight the importance of the world’s water resources. For GWP, this an important day to be an 'ambassador for water' and the network participates in celebrations around the world in various ways. Here are some of the highlights of 2018.
GWP has committed to “building a water secured world” via its unique property--multiple-stakeholders participation (MSP). Over twenty years, the diverse network of GWP has depended on MSP that helps GWP promote its vision and missions, and set up partnerships with different organisations from 84 countries. WWF8 appears a festival to GWP and all concerning water issues who gathered in Brazil which is the 5th largest country with 85% vegetation, to exchange theories, practical lessons and achievements and develop networking.
22 March 2018 : GWP CAf joins the global community to celebrate World Water Day (WWD), which aims to raise awareness on the importance of water and promote sustainable water resources management. This year, the WWD is celebrated under the theme "Water: the answer is in nature".
