GWPO Working in Virtual Environments (WiVE) team is coordinating a series of five training sessions in May and June, with the objective of enhancing our skills in facilitation in virtual environments. The sessions are optional and open to all global and regional GWP staff.
During the 2nd Pinios Pilot Technical Workshop organised in the framework of the Horizon 2020 REXUS project, whereby GWP-Med is leading the Communication Work Package, local media featured interviews and articles by the projects partners and highlighted the participatory process of designing a sustainable future for the basin.
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Volta Basin Authority (VBA) and Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) are implementing the project "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin (VFDM)" funded by the Adaptation Fund. The Central African Republic Country Water Partnership (GWP-CAR) in collaboration with the country's Ministry of Energy Development and Water Resources, launched the Global Water Leadership in a Changing Climate (GWL) Program during a national multi-stakeholder workshop held in Bangui from June 22nd – 24th 2022.
GWL is a global initiative that aims to support emerging countries, including CAR to improve their, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene services and strengthen climate resilience while bridging the gap between IWRM and WASH.
The first phase of the project TonFuturTonClimat (Your future your Climate) has ended with overall good outcomes in all the countries (Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo). A final meeting was held in Cotonou, Benin on 10 and 11 November 2020 to capitalize on the main outcomes of the pilot actions carried out and draw lessons learned.
