VIENNA, 10 October - A secondary school in Bosnia and Herzegovina has won the ‘International Danube Art Master 2017’ competition, announced Susanne Brandstetter, Chairperson of the Public Participation Expert Group of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR). After the June training in Niamey on the L-Moments model and hydrological modelling, the national experts of scientific and research institutions from the three Mekrou countries (Benin, Burkina Faso and Niger) gathered in Ouagadougou from 20 to 23 September 2017 for a training on the mathematical model Erosion Productivity Impact Calculator (EPIC) and the multiobjective optimization (MOO).

Across West and Central Africa, surface temperatures have increased significantly over the last 50 years. The primary impacts of climate change are mostly felt through water. Climate-related events such as droughts and flooding are already having a significant and diverse impact across the region, exacerbating existing challenges such as rapid population growth, extreme poverty, water shortages, rapid urbanisation and conflict.
GWP Cameroon and UNICEF signed a collaboration agreement on 23 March 2017 to implement the project "Improving the resilience of WASH services in the Mayo Tsanaga sub-basin through pilot initiatives".
