Côte d'Ivoire's economic capital hosted a training workshop for stakeholders from the Volta basin on impact-based flood forecasting products and the Bulletin integrated into the myDewetra-VOLTALARM platform. The event was held from 12 to 16 June 2023 under the chairmanship of the Minister of Water and Forests, who was represented at the official ceremony by Colonel Major Lucien KOUASSI, Director General of Forests and Wildlife of Côte d'Ivoire.
The department of Saint-Louis has a large reserve of coastal, continental and artificial wetlands, including the Langue de Barbarie, mudflats, lakes, etc. Indeed, of the nine (9) sites in Senegal included in the list of wetlands of international importance (Ramsar sites), five (5) are located in the Saint-Louis region. These wetlands are currently facing anthropic and climatic constraints.
There is a decline in the capacity of institutions within the SADC region to produce data for decision making and negotiations. It is, therefore, imperative to develop institutions’ data management capacities as a means of improving the adequacy, quality, and quality of data for decision making in transboundary water management.

On October 12, 13 and 14, 2023, the Ministry of the Environment, Water and Sanitation organized the Forum on IWRM implementation in Burkina Faso. The event, held under the patronage of Burkina Faso's Prime Minister, brought together over 400 participants from all levels of IWRM implementation in the country.
Global Water Partnership and the Government of Tanzania are working on strategies that will improve the country’s management of water resources, with the aim of increasing water security and improving the economy.
2023 is a critical reporting year on the SDGs, when countries will detail their progress on water management, a process that will be supported by GWP and the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.
The Chad Country Water Partnership (GWP-Tchad) becomes the 5th and final Country Water Partnership within the GWP- Central Africa Network to be accredited.
