Thirty members of women-led organizations in the Central African Republic have been trained on water security and management, gender, and climate resilience.
On Friday, 30 June 2023, the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Secretariat handed over a climate-smart agriculture pilot project to Metsimotlhabe Community Trust in Botswana. The project was officially handed over to the community by Mr. Nchidzi Mmolawa, Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands and Water Affairs, who was the Guest of Honour at the event.
The training session enabled participants to acquire knowledge on the prevention and management of conflicts related to the use of natural resources in the Mekrou sub-basin in Niger.
A series of national workshops in the six countries of the Volta Basin were held in Burkina Faso on 23 and 24 June, in Togo and Côte d’Ivoire on 28 and 29 June 2021.

Operated by the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, the Funding Matchmaking Initiative aims to match country-defined priorities for water management improvements which are lacking financing or only have partial funding, with local funding sources, external donors and other funding agencies that have available financing but which are not currently investing in water management at the scale required or in the most coordinated manner.
