A technical workshop to launch community-based flood and drought management initiatives at the Badara pilot site in the rural municipality of Bama, Hauts Bassin region of Burkina Faso was held on 16 November 2021.

Water security is a critical factor for Zambia to achieve its developmental aspirations as outlined in Vision 2030 and other policy documents. However, assuring water security, particularly for the future is increasingly becoming a daunting task in the face of climate change and social inequalities such as gender imbalances.

"The Green Deal for a Sustainable Future" was the theme of the 2021 digital edition of the European Development Days (EDD21) on 15-16 June, a European Commission event. GWP was represented at a high-level panel on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and at a discussion on the role of water as a connector in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Both discussions highlighted integration between sectors as key to improving water governance.
