To commemorate the 2022 International Women’s Day which is celebrated under the theme, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, GWP -Central Africa spotlights three women who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all. We asked them about what inspired them as women, to join the fight against climate change in their different scope of work plus their contributions so far to climate adaptation. Here is what they had to say.
The 2021 edition of the European Development Days (EDD21) will take place on 15-16 June. The event is fully digital, and the theme is "The Green Deal for a Sustainable Future". On the first day, the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, which GWP coordinates in partnership with UNEP, UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net UNDP, will be featured in a session on "Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) to accelerate progress on the SDGs". Registration for all sessions is now open.
In the framework of the 25th anniversary of GWP Network, GWP-WA organized its 6th media awards around the theme “"Water Security and Climate Resilience in West Africa: Acting for the Well-Being of the Populations". The winners were made known in a communiqué released on September 25.
