Global Water Partnership- Eastern Africa held its 7th Regional Consulting Partners (RCP) meeting on 17th to 18th June 2022, at M-Hotel, Kigali in Rwanda.

Coordinated by GWP Eastern Africa and implemented by the Sahara and Sahel Observatory, $13, 079,540 from the Adaptation Fund will go towards strengthening smallholder farmers’ and pastoralists’ resilience to the adverse effects of drought in the IGAD region.

Part of a four-year USD $13,079,540 project financed by the Adaptation Fund, the Global Water Partnership Eastern Africa (GWPEA) is the regional executing entity for the Strengthening Drought Resilience for Smallholder Farmers and Pastoralists in the IGAD Region Project (DRESS-EA).

More than 40 Water and Climate Change National Experts Discuss Uganda’s Challenges in Accessing Climate Finance and Share Insights on Possible Solutions

Under the Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans programme (“NAP-Ag”), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are working together with ministries of Agriculture, Environment, Planning and Finance, and key national stakeholders in selected countries to incorporate agricultural sectors into National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) processes.

In the spirit of building resilience to climate change, GWPEA conducted consultations with different stakeholders in the three catchments of Uganda (Aswa, Awoja, Maziba) where EURECCCA Project is being implemented

GWPEA participated in the second edition of the Uganda Water and Environment Week on 18-22 March 2019 in Entebbe, Uganda.
