GWP-Med organises youth workshop in Tunisia to celebrate World Water Day

In the framework of the campaign ÔVI (eau=vie / water=life) in Tunisian primary schools to raise awareness on water scarcity and the importance of water saving among the Tunisian youth, the Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med), along the Enivronmental Commission of the District 414 of Lions Clubs International Association, is organising a youth workshop to celebrate World Water Day 2016, on Saturday 19 March, at the Hotel le Sultan, in Hammamet, in the North of Tunisia.

The workshop will provide a platform for discussion on water sector challenges in Tunisia, the role of youth and civil society in improving the sustainable management of water resources and opportunities for promoting youth employment in the water sector.

The workshop will target mainly youth NGO representatives, as well as stakeholders from public organizations in the water and the employment sectors.

The ÔVI campaign has been running throughout February and March in schools around the country, within the framework of the activity "La Jeunesse Francophone pour l'eau" [Francophone Youth for Water], jointly held by the Global Water Partnership (GWP) and the Office Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse (OFQJ), as well as the BeWater Project and the work it does on raising the Tunisian youth's voice on water resources management.

Audiovisual material from the awareness activities will be projected during the youth workshop. The workshop's agenda is available here.
