Dr. Ahmed K. Eldaw is Civil Engineer and has long-experience in water resources planning, management and development: water, related environment and natural resources with social, environmental, and transboundary dimensions. Dr. Eldaw holds a degree in Civil Engineering BSc (First Class Honors) - University of Khartoum UofK/Sudan); Dip and MSc from International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (Bari/Italy); MSc and PhD from Colorado State University (CSU/USA).

He held various positions in the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources of Sudan (Researcher, Technical Director, and Deputy Director General). He also held regional positions as Senior Regional Project Manager and Executive Director, ENTRO of the Nile Basin Initiative – NBI - (2005-2012), worked for African Development Bank (AfDB) as a natural resources expert with emphasis on water resources, and worked as the Regional Coordinator of the Global Water Partnership Eastern Africa (GWPEA RC). In between these professional stations he worked as a consultant, adviser, and lecturer at national, regional, and international levels.

Throughout his work experience, Dr. Eldaw engaged with, negotiated, and managed projects funded by donors, key among them: World Bank, AfDB, EU, AFD/France, Adaptation Fund, GCF, Norway, Finland, DFID, and GIZ. Dr. Ahmed authored/ co-authored several papers published in journals, workshops, and forums on water resources and climate.
