Title: Senior Policy Advisor for the Supporting Sustainable Inclusive Blue Economy Transformation in African SIDS
Ms Immaculee Uwimana is a seasoned climate and environment expert with 15 years of experience in strategic policy development, programme coordination, and multi-sectoral engagement across sectors. She recently joined GWP South Africa and will be seconded to the African Union as a Senior Policy Advisor for Senior Policy Advisor for the Supporting Sustainable Inclusive Blue Economy Transformation in African SIDS. Immaculee brings extensive expertise in climate resilience, water resources management, disaster risk reduction, and green economy strategies, having previously led high-impact initiatives at UNDP Rwanda and the different government institutions. Immaculee holds a Master’s degree in Water Resources and Environmental Management and she is certified in Green Economy and NDC Financing. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to inclusive development, with a focus on empowering vulnerable communities and fostering regional collaboration for climate-smart solutions.
