Global Water Partnership and Wuhan International Water Law Academy are organising an online engagement session on 27 October for those who are currently enrolled – and those interested in enrolling – in the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Transboundary Freshwater Security. The topic of the session is ‘Does the world need more International Water Law?’
Over six communities (approximately 4000+ people) in the Far North Region of Cameroon have been sensitized on the origin of dental fluorosis in a bid to reduce stigmatization of affected persons, especially women and girls.
The Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance ‘train’ stopped at its second destination in the new season on 19 October, where webinar participants discovered linkages between transboundary freshwater systems and the marine environment in the framework of the Source-to-Sea approach (S2S). This topic was introduced by speakers who provided a comprehensive overview of this approach, and highlighted challenges with possible solutions.
The executing partners of the project (WMO, VBA and GWP-WA) are planning to select technicians from each country in the Volta Basin, who will take part in the capacity building process, data collection and production of flood and drought risk maps for the Volta basin led by the partner CIMA.
