CWP Guinea organized a conference on IWRM on February 4, 2019 at Mahatma Gandhi University to raise awareness among students on this approach to manage sustainably water resources.
The Country Water Partnership of Côte d'Ivoire (PNECI) had a working session with Mr. OSSETE Jean Michel, Programme and Knowledge Officer at the African Water Facility, accompanied by the consultant Théophile Gnagne, on 1 February 2019 at the African Development Bank (ADB) headquarters.
The OmiDelta project implementing partners signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the project on 22 February 2019 in the conference room of CWP Benin. The Benin Country Water Partnership (PNE-Benin), the Association to fight against Racism, Ethnocentrism and Regionalism (Association de Lutte Contre le Racisme, l'Ethnocentrisme et le Régionalisme -ALCRER) and the Benin Social Watch Network (SW-B) promote citizen monitoring at the national level and in the municipalities.
The Executive Secretary of GWP-WA, Mr. Armand HOUANYE, on a working visit to Togo, met on 19 February 2019 with national partners to discuss the revitalization of the Togo Country Water Partnership (CWP Togo).
On 8 March 2019: International Women’s Day falls on 8 March with this year’s theme “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change” which focuses on innovative ways in which individuals can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of access to public services, social protection systems and sustainable infrastructure. Transformations, integrated approaches and new solutions are necessary particularly for advancing gender equality and empowering women on the journey to achieve the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In other words, “business as usual” will not be sufficient and should put forward innovative approaches that removes structural barriers and ensures no woman and no girl is left behind.
Leveraging the intersectoral management of water resources for sustainable water security and peace, UNESCO brings together actors and partners to share innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. The International Water Conference is held 13-14 May in Paris, France.
Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) is pleased to announce that Mr. Konstantin Ivanov has been selected as the new Regional Coordinator for Central and Eastern Europe. His appointment is effective from 1 March 2019.
