From October 12 GWP-WA Secretariat has a new staff. The recruitment process of the WACDEP-G programme manager was concluded by the recruitment Mr. Joseph Yaovi KOGBE, as the Regional Program Officer of AIP WACDEP-G West Africa.

The Council of the Water Agency of the Mekrou sub-basin in Niger was established on 10 May 2022 in Dosso. The installation workshop served as a framework for validating the Water Development and Management Scheme (SAGE) of the Mekrou sub-basin and its area of influence in Niger, as well as for launching three pilot initiatives for the protection and development of the sub-basin's water resources and related resources.

The Tisza Office of the Middle Tisza Water Directorate (KÖTIVIZIG) was ceremonially inaugurated on 4 November 2014. The World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought is a United Nations observance celebrated each year on 17 June. Its purpose is to raise awareness around desertification and drought, highlighting methods on how to prevent these from occurring. The 2021 edition focuses on turning degraded land into healthy land - the event key words are restoration, land and recovery.

GWP-Med is leading the “Pathways to Impact” Work Package in the Horizon 2020 REXUS project, coordinating communication and dissemination activities. The 1st plenary meeting, which took place on 21 and 27 October 2021, brought together more than 60 participants from over 20 institutions, sharing advances on various pieces of the REXUS ‘jigsaw puzzle’ which is coming together to create new blueprint for applying the Water-Energy-Food-Climate Nexus.
