The annual virtual meeting of GWP network partners is being held this year on June 25 and 26, 2019. For West Africa, it will take place on June 26 from 10am to 12pm. This year, Guinea, Gambia, Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire will be the sites that have agreed to host national sessions on the topics of discussion around the new GWP 2020-2025 Strategy.

Every rainy season, Malawi grapples with an outbreak of Cholera. This season has not been different. As of 7 May 2022, the country had registered 133 cases, with 6 lives lost.
In 2014, GWP and UNICEF established a strategic partnership to work on climate resilience and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). The collaboration resulted in a Strategic Framework and a range of technical briefs and guidance notes to support the implementation of the Framework. In February 2018, a website was launched with the knowledge products. Since then, they have become among the most downloaded publications with GWP involvement. To mark World Toilet Day 2019 (19 November), which has a strong link to WASH, GWP followed up on the use of the material.
For seven years, the Kazakh-German University (KGU) has been annually holding an Olympiad in the field of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) among students from Central Asian countries. Since last year, the University has expanded the subject matter of the Olympiad and conducts it within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) developed by the UN.
April 8, 2020 – The Global Water Partnership (GWP) has begun a search for an Executive Secretary, its top executive position. Monika Weber-Fahr, the current Executive Secretary, announced in early March that she would step down effective June 30, 2020.
Yekini Wallen-Bryan is the winner of the first-ever Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs Shark Tank Competition. The 25-year-old Jamaican national was among seven (7) finalists in the regional competition and delivered the winning pitch, securing 4,000 Euros.
