In celebration of International Youth Day 2020 on 12 August, GWP organised an online discussion with GWP Youth Engagement Specialist Rianna Gonzales, who interviewed GWP Southern Africa Youth Coordinator Paseka Lesolang about his achievements as an entrepreneur and influencer. Paseka said that one of the most important skills that has brought him to where he is today, is self-knowledge. This has allowed him to stretch himself to the next point. “Know thyself” was therefore one of his key messages.
A Gambia CWP team including the Chairperson, the Executive Secretary, the National IWRM Focal point and the GWP-WA Technical Committee member met with the Hon. Minister of Water Resources, James Furmos Peter Gomez and his Permanent Secretary (PS), Dr. Bamba Banja on July 7th in the minister’s office in Banjul.
GWP is hosting a Pan-Asia Regional training on Water Governance, International Water Law and Multi-Stakeholder Processes together with partner organisations. The training takes place in Kunming, China, 13-15 December 2018.

The partners of the Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Côte d’Ivoire held an Assembly on 26 July, which elected Dr. KOFFI Bruno as the new chair person. Dr. KOFFI Bruno is taking over Mr. NDRI Koffi as the chair of the CWP.

To effectively and efficiently support GWP Central Africa and its partners in implementing the Gender Equality in Water Security and Climate Resilient Development Programme (WACDEP-G) in Central Africa, as well as in mainstreaming gender in its work, GWP-CAf is recruiting a full time Gender and Water Advisor who will work with the GWP-CAf regional secretariat in Yaoundé.
Five experts, a Special Advisor and a Gender Expert have been appointed to join GWP-SA-Africa Coordination Unit to boost the drive towards the SADC industrialization, job creation and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda.
