GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE: GWP mobilises action on the global water crisis through a unique combination of social capital, shared values, credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. We are committed to our role as a neutral convener and respected for our focus on inclusiveness and sustainability.

GWP Regions

This is where you can find links to the websites of our Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs). RWPs are closest to the countries where we work. They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

Who are the Water ChangeMakers Across the Globe?

The Water ChangeMaker Awards closed its submissions on 14 June – with 350+ individuals and groups from over 80 countries having submitted their personal experiences on how they have influenced water decisions that build climate resilience. Since that time, all submitted projects have undergone eligibility and verification screening.

COVID 19: Call from Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) for the fight against the pandemic

(Ouagadougou, 7 April 2020) - The World is going through a serious health crisis linked to the spread of Covid 19. The pandemic is affecting almost all African countries, including the 15 West African States. Covid-19 could seriously affect the nations and populations of West Africa in their daily lives and economic activities given the fragility of health systems, informal economy and precarious urban systems.

Chad Country Water Partnership now accredited

The Chad Country Water Partnership (GWP-Tchad) becomes the 5th and final Country Water Partnership within the GWP- Central Africa Network to be accredited.

Disseminating the review on the management of the water and sanitation sector 2018 and sharing the report on the integrity risks mapping in Benin

From 26 to 29 November 2019, a tour was organized to disseminate at the local level, reviews on the management of the Water, Hygiene and Sanitation sectors. The results of the report on the mapping of integrity risks in the said sector were also shared in a separate meeting.

VFDM Pilot Project in Burkina Faso

A technical workshop to launch community-based flood and drought management initiatives at the Badara pilot site in the rural municipality of Bama, Hauts Bassin region of Burkina Faso was held on 16 November 2021.

SDG 6.5.1 reporting exercise in West Africa

GWP WA is coordinating the reporting on the SDG 6.5.1 indicator by UNEP through the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme with GWP support in the region. Monitoring and reporting on SDG indicator 6.5.1 in countries are based on a self-assessment survey.

La Comunidad de Mujeres en Agua y GWP invitan a la primera reunión para colegas de habla hispana

Agua, mujeres, y café en español: Con mucho entusiasmo las invitamos al primer evento en español de la Comunidad de Mujeres en Agua el próximo 8 de abril. En esta una reunión virtual -compartiendo un café- colegas de países de habla hispana intercambian opiniones sobre las oportunidades y desafíos de ser una mujer que trabaja en temas de agua. Será una gran oportunidad para conocer colegas mujeres de diferentes partes del mundo y con intereses y habilidades muy diversas.
