The SDG 6 IWRM Stage 1 Support Package

The Support Package provides guidance and tools on how countries can design and facilitate multi-stakeholder processes aimed at monitoring and reporting of SDG indicator 6.5.1. The goal is to employ SDG 6.5 national monitoring and reporting frameworks to identify, through multi-stakeholder consultations, critical areas for attention that hinder progress on IWRM.

Workshop on Gender Equality for sustainable development in Nexus sectors in Drin Riparians

An online Workshop on “Gender Equality (GE) for Sustainable Development in Nexus sectors in Drin Riparians” took place on 12 October 2021 with the participation of around 55 representatives from different gender related institutions and nexus related sectors, gender focal points, civil society, academia, women empowerment activists and experts from Albania, Kosovo* and North Macedonia. Its overall purpose was to bring these actors together to discuss challenges and opportunities for promoting gender equality as a driver for sustainable development in Drin Riparians.

GWP Begins 2020 Planning and Beyond

GWP’s global and regional staff met in Amman, Jordan, on 13-16 May for the network’s annual Regional Days. One of the big agenda items was GWP’s new Strategy 2020-2025, which is due to be launched in July. Other topics were GWP’s 3-year work programmes and finding a common understanding around GWP’s work in convening multi-stakeholder dialogues.

Before Disaster Hits – Find Information

13 October marks the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. The day is centered around the seven targets of the Sendai Framework, and this year focuses on Target D: reduce disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disruption of basic services. According to the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) floods are the most common natural disaster with the largest impacts on society.
