LIST OF TECHNICIANS SELECTED BY COUNTRY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAPACITY BUILDING PROCESS FOR DATA COLLECTION AND PRODUCTION OF FLOOD AND DROUGHT RISK MAPS IN THE VOLTA BASIN
Migration is a complex and multi-layered issue, with many pre-conceptions and controversies surrounding the debate on it. On 22 January, GWP together with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and Partners, organised a webinar to shed some light on the linkages between water insecurity and outmigration from rural areas.
As part of the UN SDG 6 Data Drive, the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme is substantially scaling up its efforts in 2020 by facilitating 60+ in-country processes across the world to assist national stocktaking and reporting, and more importantly, to support transformative action towards a greater implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).

Communications is key for development, something recognised by both GWP and Sida, Sweden’s International Development Cooperation Agency, and one of GWP’s founding Partners. On 22-23 November, the Communication teams of GWP and Sida joined forces with Malmö University’s Master's in Communication for Development in convening a 2-day seminar for their students as part of the course on "Media, globalization and development."
To effectively and efficiently implement WACDEP-G and support its contribution to the broader AIP agenda, GWP-CAf is recruiting a young professional to provide technical and program management support to the regional secretariat in Yaounde, Cameroon. The Young Professional will work under the direct supervision of the Regional Executive Secretary, and in close collaboration with the incoming Programme Manager for WACDEP-G. Duties will include international travel and representation.
The Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) is organising a webinar series as part of the preparation for the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit (a date for the Summit is yet to be confirmed). Part 2 of the webinar series takes place on 7 October, featuring GWP Chair Howard Bamsey, who will speak on the topic of "Climate change, sustainable
development and investors: more risks, more opportunities through better governance".
"Strengthening Investments for Climate Resilient Development in the Lac Nokoué-Lagoon Complex of Porto Novo (RICC)" is a project proposal submitted by the Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Benin that the African Development Bank (AfDB) is supporting financially for an amount of Four hundred and ninety-five thousand three hundred and forty (495,340) Euros over a period of Twenty-four (24) months.
