International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year. For 2018, the UN’s theme is: “Time is Now: Rural and urban activists transforming women's life.” On the eve of celebrating, we decided to ask women in the GWP CACENA network a question: "Time is now for equality in water access and management! How can activism empower #WaterWomen?"

Gambia discusses a national climate framework

The Department of Water Resources is mulling plans to set up a national framework for climate change services. Officials from regional and International partner organizations are currently took part in a consultative meeting on developing a harmonized framework to deliver prominent climate services.

Discussions on revitalizing the Cape Verde PNE

In order to revitalize the Country Water Partnership in Cape Verde, the IDMP project manager, Ms. Félicité VODOUNHESSI together with the Senior Network Officer (SNO) of the GWP West Africa, Ms. Julienne ROUX also attending the WASAG Forum in Praia, met and discussed with some partners including the chair of the Cape Verde CWP, Mr Mario MONIZ, the Director of the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANAS), Mr Inacio Mendes PEREIRA, and Mr Januario NASCIMONTO, Director of the Association for the Defense of Environment(of ADAD).

Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) Project in Haiti

GWP-C is collaborating with its Partner, Haiti Survie to establish a community Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) system in a water scare community in the country. The project began on April 1st, 2019 and is scheduled to be completed by July 31st, 2019.
