Vientiane, 24 October 2018 -- The Mekong River Commission (MRC), Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP SEA), and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) successfully organized a regional shared vision and collaborative modelling workshop for the Mekong River Basin.

The 14th UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP14) takes place 2-13 September at the India Expo Center and Mart, in New Delhi, India. GWP is represented and play an active role during the second week of the event.
The virtual conference CLIMATE2020 takes place from 23-30 March. It is organised by the Research and Transfer Centre Sustainability and Climate Impact Management (FTZ-NK) of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany, and it will offer an opportunity for dialogue and exchange of ideas with scientists, experts from politics, business, education and other spheres of the society.
On World Water Day (22 March 2018), during the World Water Forum 8 in Brasilia, a beta version of the Youth for Water & Climate #YWC digital platform was launched.

On 29-30 November 2018, GWPEA organized a media field visit for selected media outlets/practicing journalists drawn from seven media houses to explore further the aspects of drought risk management in Mubende, Uganda and develop stories to be aired in Uganda as well as potential case studies.
The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on sustainable development in 2018 is held on 9-18 July at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. GWP will be represented at the event.
More than 140 decision makers and representatives of government, civil society, international organisations, donors, financing institutions, and the private and banking sector, came together for 3 days sharing experiences and discussing needs, challenges and next steps during the “Conference on Water Governance in MENA and wider Mediterranean region” that was held in Barcelona, on 12-14 December. The Regional Conference was organised under the auspices of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), by two UfM-labelled projects supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), namely the Governance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector project led by GWP-Med, and the Regional Water Integrity Capacity Building Programme in MENA, led by SIWI UNDP Water Governance Facility. The Conference was organised in close and strategic synergy with the EU-funded Sustainable Water Integrated Management and Horizon 2020 Support Mechanism (SWIM-H2020 SM) regional project.
GWP Central America has published two case studies on women in water management, as part of the implementation of GWP´s Gender Strategy. The studies are available in Spanish.
