GWP has created the SDG Preparedness Facility (SDG-PF) to deepen and streamline efforts at country level to implement the SDGs. Building on the country-level consultations from Stage 2, the 3-year projects use SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) to achieve SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
Good governance around transboundary waters is critical for water security, regional socio-economic development, peace, and stability. Since 2010, GWP has been conducting capacity building trainings on International Water Law (IWL) and water governance. While there is no shortage of trainings on transboundary water issues, the uniqueness of GWP’s IWL workshops lie in the peer-to-peer and cross-continental learning, says GWP Senior Network Specialist Yumiko Yasuda. This has proved to be a successful formula that GWP is now ready to take to the next level – an online platform to support existing training and close learning gaps.
On 22 March 2020 (World Water Day) GWP and Partners launched the ChangeMakers Award - a global competition that celebrates transformative changes towards a water secure world.
China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR) is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, and to developing leaders in water and water relevant sectors who make a difference nationally, regionally or globally. From 20-24 November 2017, CWP-Benin represented by Rachel ARAYE took part in the Sharing Skills Seminar organized by the VIA WATER programme in Ghana. This seminar was hosted by the ISGC (International Student Guest Centre) and attended by 26 innovative project leaders on water, sanitation and agriculture issues from seven (7) countries: Benin, Mali, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, Mozambique and India.
With the support of the GWP, the Water and Climate Network of Central African Youth Organisations (RECOJAC) was able to take part in the 7th edition of the African Water Week, which was held from the 29th of October to the 02nd of November 2018 in Gabon.

International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. It takes place on 8 March every year since 1911.
Dr. Monika Weber-Fahr, GWP’s new Executive Secretary has visited West Africa in the last week of June. She had a stay in Dakar, Senegal to take part in the World Water Forum’s Board of Governors’ meeting, and in the Climate KIC strategy meeting.
