On the national level, Country Water Partnerships (CWP's) bring Consulting Partners from various sectors – NGOs/CSOs, government agencies, academic and research institutions and the private sector - together to identify common challenges and promote integrated sustainable solutions.

Global Water Partnership Central Africa (GWP-CAf) and Lake Chad Basin Commission  (LCBC)are re recruiting  two experts  (an Expert in Project Development and an Expert in Hydrology / Meteorology) to work on the “ Development of a full project proposal on the establishment of an Early Warning System within the Lake Chad Basin Area “

On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), the officers of the Global Water Partnership have interviewed women in the water community across the global network on their journey to become successful in their professions, how to overcome obstacles they face as women, and also recommendations to other women. In GWP China, talk with Qihua CAI was in the office of the regional secretariat, hearing her 38 years of karma with the work in water sector.

On December 2, 2016, the GWP China Hebei’s Partners Meeting and Transboundary Water Security System & Management Workshop were held in Hebei Province, China. It was hosted by the GWP China Hebei, Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources and Hebei Provincial Association of Elder Scientists.

The below papers are proceedings papers from a workshop on the linkages between water and land in the emerging geopolitics of food. It was held in Pretoria 15 – 16 June 2015 by the International Land Coalition (ILC), Global Water Partnership (GWP) and International Water Management Institute (IWMI).

“Water, gender and development are closely interconnected, and GWP realizes this fully. We think that water empowers women, and empowered women transform their societies.” These are the words of GWP Interim Chair Alice Bouman-Dentener on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2016 (#IWD2016). Alongside her, some of the remarkable women in the GWP network speak up - about their journey to become successful in their professions, how to overcome obstacles they face as women, and also recommendations to other women.

A regional water youth network was created by participants to the recent Youth for Water Conference organised by GWP Central America, Movimiento de Jóvenes por el Agua (Youth Movement for Water, MOJA) and La Ruta del Clima (The Climate Route) and supported by GWP South America, UNICEF-Nicaragua, Reforestamos Mexico, and IUCN. 

GWPSA’s technical team participated at the World Water Week in Stockholm from 28^th August – 2^nd September, 2016. Under the theme, Water for Sustainable Growth, the team participated in a number of sessions contributing to the solutions to the most pressing water-related challenges of today.
