Aiming to raise awareness on the criticality of not wasting water in the islands and beyond, GWP-Med launched a new campaign titled #savewater at the beginning of summer in Greece.
The Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), with the support of the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) convened the 9 th SADC Multi-Stakeholder Water, Energy, Food (WEF) Nexus Dialogue from 26-27 March 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa at the Capital on the Park Hotel.

On Wednesday 31 January 2018, the Via Water project was launched in Cotonou, Benin. The launch ceremony took place under the sponsorship of the Deputy Secretary General of the Minister of Water and Mines, in the presence of the actors of the consortium in charge of the said project, the representatives of public structures of the sub-sector, the Ministry of Health, the young water professionals of the Beninese Network of Youth of the World Water Parliament (RB/PMJE) and the economic operators of the water sector.

A new film on the implementation of the pilot project initiated in the northern part of Benin in the Mékrou Basin has just been released by GWP West Africa. This video presents the actions carried out by the Mékrou pilot project in Benin. The Pilot Project to Support the Restoration of Ecosystems of the Head source of the Mekrou Basin (PAREM) in Benin aims to improve people’s knowledge on the impacts of climate change on the ecosystems of the head source of the basin; and to reduce the degradation of the natural ecosystems of the head source of the Mekrou.
The project implementation is coordinated by the Benin Country Water Partnership with funding from the European Union Commission.
A 3-day conference on water security through rain water harvesting will be held on 27-29 November in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The aim is provide a multidisciplinary platform for practitioners and professionals to discuss the innovations, trends, and concerns to enhance water security through rain water harvesting.
