The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) is seeking to hire a Programme Officer based in Albania, to serve as a Dialogue Coordinator for the implementation of activities under the National and Transboundary Nexus Dialogue Processes in Albania and in the river basins of the Drin and Drina rivers.

The significance of engaging young people in the design and implementation of policies, plans and standards in Disaster Risk Reduction has been recognized by the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. GWP West Africa new Executive Secretary Armand HOUANYE was officially introduced by the former one Dam MOGBANTE to the Director General of water resources (DGRE) of Burkina Faso, Mr. Serge TRAORE, on 21 November 2017.
GWP held its annual Regional Days meeting on 23-25 May in Budapest, Hungary. This was followed by meetings of the GWP Steering Committee, Financing Partners Group, and Sponsoring Partners in Stockholm, Sweden on 11-14 June. All meetings were focused on launching the process for developing GWP’s new strategy.
In the night of Wednesday 16 to Thursday 17 May, a drama occurred in Lake Toho in Kpinou, in the commune of Athiémé /Departement of Mono, South-West Benin. Lifeless fish floated to the surface of the lake. The authorities of the sectoral ministries, in turn, went down to the site to observe the damage. Thousands of dead fish lay on the ground of a fish farm developer in Kpinnou.
The Summer School „Towards 2030 Agenda: A summer school for climate change, innovation and youth advocacy in water management“ took place on 1- 6 July 2018 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.
On 19 November, marking World Toilet Day 2018, GWP invited Kanika Thakar, founder of #ToiletTalk, to a Facebook Live interview. She talked about her passion to change the way the world values and talks about toilets. “How can you solve a problem if we can't even talk about it?” she asks. Kanika says her aim is to break down the taboos surrounding toilets.
