The Youth H₂O forum joined a number of stakeholders in commemorating World Water Day which fell on 22^nd March 2016. The day was commemorated in two different places. The main event was held in Choma Southern province on the 21^st March, and the other event was held in Lusaka at Mtendere Clinic. 

The global GWP secretariat in Stockholm seeks a consultancy for support to the formulation of GWP Strategy 2020-2025. The objective is to draft and finalise the GWP 2020-2025 Strategy document, in close coordination with the secretariat, via the design and implementation of a collaborative and consultative process involving key GWP stakeholders.

The Ghana Country Water Partnership (CWP-Ghana) was represented by the Communications Officer at a one-day seminar under the theme “Our Water, Our Life: Ghana’s Water Resources in Crisis.” This seminar was organised by the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) at the conference room of the Science and Technology Research Institute of the CSIR on 19^th April, 2016.

 

The Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is taking the lead in assisting countries in developing national drought plans through National Consultants.

The Summer School „Towards 2030 Agenda: A summer school for climate change, innovation and youth advocacy in water management“ will take place on 1- 6 July 2018 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.

Situated in Eastern Europe, Estonia is bordering the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Finland, between Latvia and Russia. Offshore, there are more than 1,500 islands belonging to Estonia. It has a maritime climate with wet moderate winters and cool summers. Important natural resources of Estonia include oil shale, peat, arable land and sea mud.

CWP Benin officially handed over the Bachelor and Master level Water Integrity and sanitation Units to the Director of the National Institute of Water (INE) in the presence of the first Vice-Rector of the University of Abomey-Calavi.

The SADC Secretariat has been holding a series of workshops for the transboundary River Basin Organisations (RBOs) in the region since 2006. The workshops are organised with the aim of using RBOs as a vehicle for strengthening regional integration and have served as a key tool for implementing SADC’s Revised Regional Protocol on Shared Watercourses (2000).
