We are looking for young activists to join forces for water & climate!

 

Five awards of €1,000 each are available for youth-led projects which are based on the white paper recommendations made at COP 21.

BRATISLAVA, January 15, 2018 – Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe is proud to announce that a new international initiative pairing young water advocates with policymakers has been selected for funding by the European Union's Erasmus+ program.

After the regional mission in February, the CWP Guinea has reviewed its 2018-2019 action plan to include proposals and activities discussed during the mission with various partners. The reviewed plan focusses on Policy Influence and Visibility of the CWP, Communication and knowledge management; Strengthening partnerships and governance; and Mobilization of financial resources.

United Nations Water (UN-Water) coordinates the efforts of United Nations entities and international organizations working on water and sanitation issues. The UN Regional Commissions are mandated to provide recommendations from all regions for a more efficient model for regional level coordination of UN-Water activities, in the context of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development and with a focus on SDG6.

GWP-WA partners met in an Extraordinary Assembly of Partners on 17 October 2018 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso to allow the regional partnership to keep its legal status in the host country, Burkina Faso and to collect the contributions of partners for the ongoing development process of the new GWP 2020-2024 strategy.

The regional secretariat has organized on 2nd October 2017 a ceremony for the official transfer of services from the outgoing chair, Pr. Abel AFOUDA to the incoming one, Pr. Amadou Hama MAIGA.

Objective: Support governments to create jobs through industrialisation; increased investments in water infrastructure; and integrated urban and rural water and sanitation delivery.

The WACDEP Regional Programme Manager undertook a mission on 6 November 2015 on the program demonstration site in the municipality of Loumbila in Nakanbé (Volta Basin) in Burkina Faso.
